Clothing Masterclass: Outfits For $50

Written by Wendy Mak

What? Outfits for $50 you say?? Including shoes & bag???? Well yes-siree, you read right and it’s on this blog!!

And to boot, these aren’t outfits for some skinny minny model, but a real, every-day outfit for someone who is Curve-tastic!

Remember Tanya, our gorgeous sze 14 – 16 model? Today I have her rocking two terrific outfits for $50 (approximately).

It just goes to show that no matter what your size, you CAN look amazing on any budget!

Both outfits are from K-Mart. And yes, I’m the first the admit their pieces won’t last forever but it does deliver fantastic, on-trend style, on a GFC Mark 3 budget!

The first features a pair of standard, classic straight legged jeans from K-Mart that is priced at just $7. Yep. $7. I’ve then matched this with a striped blouse (who said anyone over a size 8 can’t wear horizontal stripes???) for $15 and a pair of pop coloured heels on sale from $19 to $15 (even at $19 these shoes are not a huge dent in the fashion wallet).

The next is a great bandage style skirt in a nice structured fabric (which is flattering for curves) for just $15 (you’d pay more for lunch in Westfield Sydney’s food court!!) and a FANTASTIC top which has a little cut-out sleeve so you can cover your arms but still look great and cool for summer! It’s the kind of blouse that will rock a skirt, jeans or trousers, so it’s super versatile! I’ve completed this with a pair of cream canvas wedges for $19 – which is the most expensive item in this look.

And, if your budget allows, you can even get the orange contrast clutch for an extra $15, bringing the total (with bag) cost to a purse friendly $64 (again all from K-Mart)!

I loved outfits for $50 as when we here fashion stylist we immediately think expensive costs & designer clothing. It’s fantastic to see that you cater for all walks of life and that you have not just considered the high end earners. Thank you!
