Welcome to today’s Style Inspiration: The Creative!
Kimba of Kimba Likes is a beauty junkie with a passion for fashion and a zest for fun.
She is a silver lining girl, who loves a hair bow, a bold brow and a non matchy matchy shoe-handbag combo.
Colour makes her happy and print clashing is her jam.
Kimba spills the beans on her outfit:
I love a full skirt.
I love a hair bow.
I love an arm party.
I love a pop of colour.
I almost totally love this outfit – except for the shoes!
I really don’t like the norm core style. I really don’t like chunky flat shoes.
However, I do love a bargain and I love a classic design brand.
After perusing various sale sites recently, I chanced upon a Birkenstock sale on OzSale.
I needed to replace my T bar sandal style, so I kept my fingers crossed that my size, style and colour would be available.
Alas and alack, this was not to be. Just pages of single strap, double strap and triple strap clunky orthopedic Birkenstock slides.
Then my magpie eyes, always attracted to shiny shiny, found a pair of pale silver double strap slides.
Add to cart!
I decided if they arrived and I really wasn’t fond of them, I could return them.
Or donate them to charity. Or give eBay a go.
They arrived just in the nick of time.
I picked them up from the post office the evening before I stretched awkwardly and pulled some muscles in my back.
I don’t know if you have experienced a sore back before, but let me tell you that supportive comfortable shoes are the only things you want on your feet.
Really, we should be sensible and think this way all the time.
But shoes! Shiny shiny! I don’t think so!
The orthopedic looking shoes? Knight in shining silver leather.
I teamed them with a basic black tank from Popbasic and a vintage tiered skirt from Renew Vintage.
My cobalt leather handbag was an OzSale bargain by Chloden London, and my divine hair bow is from Posh and Frolic.
They’ve just launched a range of cuter-than-adorable-fluffy-kittens kidswear.
My waist cinching belt from Motto performed one of my favourite fashion magic tricks.
Creating a waist!
The volume of the skirt paired with the fitted top lends itself perfectly to a waist-faking wide belt.
This one is elasticated at the back.
You know I love an arm party – this prettily simple one features a Tyler & Blake rose gold bracelet from Kamali Moon, a Mila & Ruby leather cuff with interchangeable pebbles.
The Tiffany & Co bangle I’ve worn every single day since I received it as a 30th birthday gift and a sterling silver bangle I was given as a bon voyage gift, way back in 1995.
My Kenzie Accessories necklace is from Vintage Pip and my pretty vintage floral earrings are from Sister in Style.
I felt slightly uncomfortable all day, wearing shoes I didn’t really love, yet at the same time, incredibly comfortable.
Is there a trend you don’t like that you’ve adopted?
Tell me it’s not just me!
